Western culture has certain expectations of guys. Be stoic. Don’t talk about yourself. Don’t care too much about your appearance. These kind of get in the way if you happen to actually care about being expressive and open with people. But the last one in particular can leave you a bit out in the cold if you’re a guy that wants to try to actually take care of his appearance. That or they get dressed up in unclear language to try to make the directions as manly as possible instead of as clear as possible. OROGOLD understands your pain. As a result, here are some tips on maintaining a bit of pride in your appearance for those of you who were just a bit too embarrassed to ask someone to explain.

Cleanse and Exfoliate
You too can have soft skin and a cleaner complexion if you’re willing to take a couple of basic steps. Use a decent cleanser routinely, guys. Try to fall into a routine of cleansing when you get up, but before you shave. Then cleanse once again before you go to bed. You’re just adding a couple of steps a day that will take you less than five minutes combined. Consider exfoliating as well though. This you’ll only need to do a couple of times a week depending on your skin type. If your skin is a bit more oily, then you might be able to get away with this another time or two. Just keep an eye out for any excessive irritation from exfoliating too often.

Consider Experimenting with Makeup
Makeup needn’t be something that you’re afraid of trying because it is viewed as feminine. All the men you see looking their best in movies, TV shows, and ads? You can bet they’re wearing makeup. It doesn’t have to even be something dramatic or complex as some of the best makeup styles opt for looking entirely natural. There are plenty of tutorials available online that can point you in the right direction. OROGOLD would like to remind you that your skin is always going to be a bit on the ruddy side simply due to biology, but those tutorials can teach you to even out your complexion and bring out a healthy, natural looking glow regardless of the time of year. No one says you have to always use it, but at least experimenting could give you that added edge for an important occasion.

Sunscreen
Even if you don’t opt to try either of the other two options, try to always remember to wear sunscreen. Wear it on your body and face any time you’re going to be out in the sun. Sun damage is the primary cause of skin damage and premature aging. You need to remember it if you want to keep looking your best for as long as you can. Another thing to note is that you shouldn’t just use sunscreen intended for your body on your face. The two kinds of skin are actually different, guys. Using a body sunscreen on your face is likely to clog pores and lead to breakouts. Try looking for a facial moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30 the next time you’re in a store and make sure it offers broad spectrum coverage.

These are just a few simple skin care techniques that guys can use. You don’t need to be embarrassed by the fact that a lot of people would call them “beauty tips”. Looking healthy and like you care about yourself shouldn’t just be a feminine thing. You exercise and eat right to look good. Just consider this an extension of that idea. OROGOLD hopes these tips help you move towards a better skin care routine and looking your best.
