2015 kicked off the year with some of the most glamorous red carpet looks yet. This year, OROGOLD is presenting the 2015 Golden Glow awards to the ten best makeup looks seen on the red carpet.
- Reese Witherspoon at the Golden Globes
Reese Witherspoon looked stunning in her silver strapless dress, and her makeup only complimented the look. Her lipstick was a great shade of pink that whitened her teeth and brought out her eyes. Her look would have been even better with a bit lighter liner on the bottom lid.
-
Catherine Zeta-Jones at the Golden Globes
Catherine Zeta-Jones featured a dark, bold smoky eye which brought out her natural features beautifully. Her blush was placed perfectly to give a bit of lift to her cheeks. It would have been nice to see a bit of a less neutral lip color; the beige color she wore washed her face out a little.
- Jamie Chung at the Oscar Awards
Jamie Chung went for a bit lighter look which really suited her. With less eye makeup, her look was inviting and refreshing. The pop of color on the cheeks was just right to add some allure. She could have cut down on the highlighter or bronzer, though—it wasn’t necessary!
Behati Prinsloo at the Oscar Awards
Behati Prinsloo brought back the traditional red lip for the 2015 Oscars. The shade of red perfectly matched her dress and was flattering on her skin color. With her bold dress, she probably could have toned down the makeup though; the darker lip color and blush was a bit harsh compared to some of the other red carpet makeup looks.
- Jennifer Lopez at the Golden Globes
Jennifer Lopez is known for her smoldering makeup with that natural glow. Her Golden Globes makeup was quite striking, and she pulled off that baby pink lip color that can be so hard to wear. We would have loved to see her cut down on the black eye makeup a little bit because her natural features are so beautiful without the heavy makeup.
-
Katy Perry at the Grammy Awards
Katy Perry’s Grammy look was close to perfection, especially with her new color and cut. She opted for a thick cat eye and an almost-natural pink lip. She looked glamorous while still staying quite simple. With more contour to give her face a bit more shape, she would have looked even more fabulous!
- Amal Clooney at the Golden Globes
Amal Clooney was stunning at the Golden Globes. She sported the perfect dark pink lip rather than a traditional red that really suited her. Her look was very matte and could have benefited from highlighter to get that perfect glow.
-
Lupita Nyong’o at the Oscar Awards
We loved that Lupita Nyong’o opted for a lighter silver eye rather than the popular smoky eyes that have been seen over and over again on the red carpet. The silver made her eyes stand out and gave her face a shimmering glow. The only thing missing was perhaps a little hint of color on the cheeks.
- Zendaya at the Grammy Awards
Zendaya’s makeup for the Grammy Awards was absolutely stunning. Her metallic brown lipstick was such a unique choice that was perfect with her facial features. She balanced her eyeliner out perfectly, so it was not too heavy but still dark and contrasting.
-
Rita Ora at the BRIT Awards
And the overall OROGOLD Golden Glow award goes to Rita Ora’s look at the BRIT Awards. She donned a perfect balance of blush, highlighter, and contour that made her skin look like it was actually glowing. Opting for a warmer brown smoky eye made her look a bit softer and really accentuated her eyes well.
