Dry Brushing Your Body
When dry brushing your body, you should always begin at the bottom of your feet, moving up to your legs in an upward motion. Once you have moved up to your stomach, brush your skin in a circular motion, before brushing your arms down towards your chest, going back to circular motions once you reach your chest. Finally, move on to your neck, brushing from the back towards the front.

To do this, start at your neck, moving back and forth between your neck and your forehead, with the same circular motions that you used on your body. However, be sure to use a different dry brush on your face than you do on your body, preferably one with softer bristles, as the skin on your face is much more delicate than that on your body.

When to Dry Brush
As you can tell from the name of this technique, dry brushing should only be done on dry skin, and never on damp skin. The most beneficial time of the day to dry brush is in the mornings, as this will help to wake your body up and give it a boost of invigoration. Dry brushing also clears away the dead skin cells that settle on the surface of your skin, meaning that any subsequent products that you apply will be able to penetrate your skin much more effectively. If dry brushing is new to you, you should start by doing this once a week, gradually increasing this as your skin is able to better tolerate it. Ultimately, while some dry brush every day, once to three times a week tends to be sufficient.

When dry brushing, you should hold the brush flat on your skin, using long and firm strokes. Dry brushing should never cause any pain, so be sure not to put too much pressure on the brush, allowing it to glide over your skin. A tingling sensation is absolutely normal, and means that the technique is having an effect.
