Glowing skin is something that just about everybody wants, and it is actually not too difficult to achieve. The following skin routine takes inspiration from a few different traditional Korean skin care techniques, resulting in a healthy and radiant glow in no time at all!

Double Cleanse
If you are someone that cleanses with a few swipes of a facial wipe, this needs to change if you really want flawless skin. Double cleansing is a technique that is popular throughout Asia and always brings about fantastic results. Once you have removed your makeup, use an oil-based cleanser to remove the day’s build-up of impurities, and then follow this up with a water-based cleanser.

Woman exfoliating skin

Exfoliate
Exfoliating should only be done on your face twice a week, so this is not a step that needs to be carried out daily. Since the face on your skin is so delicate, a soft and gentle exfoliant should always be used.

Tone
Toners are important when it comes to restoring the pH balance of the skin, which is often disturbed after coming into contact with the ingredients used in a cleanser. Rather than leaving your skin to work overtime to rebalance this itself, which usually leads to the production of excess oil, a toner will do this much more quickly, while also moisturizing the skin and giving it an added layer of protection.

Woman applying serum

Essences and Serums
Essences and serums contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help to improve the skin, and the exact products that you use should depend on your specific skin concerns. From lightening and brightening to reversing UV damage, essences and serums are available for so many different issues, so pick the main ones that you want to focus on first.

Eye Cream
Your eye cream should always be applied before your face moisturizer, as an eye cream has been designed for the more delicate areas around your eyes, and needs to come into direct contact with the skin. To ensure that this area is as smooth and plump as can be, use a thick eye cream twice a day, patting it in gently with your fingers rather than rubbing it.

Woman applying moisturizer

Moisturize
Having a separate moisturizer for day and night is incredibly useful, as your skin has different needs at different times of the day. During the day, your moisturizer should be lightweight, blending into your skin easily, and could even contain some SPF for added sun protection. For the night time, your moisturizer should be thicker, as this is the time when your body loses quite a bit of moisture, and your skin needs this extra hydration in order to regenerate and heal. However, it is also important to coordinate your moisturizer with the seasons, as you do not want an overly heavy and thick night time moisturizer in the summer months, as this means that your skin will not be able to breathe.

This skin care routine is an easy one to adapt to your own, and will work with all of your favorite products. While exfoliating is a step that only needs to be done twice a week, everything else should be followed each and every day, in order to bring about that gorgeous glow as quickly as possible.
