The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. At the event, the annual Costume Institute fashion exhibit is opened. This year, the exhibit’s theme is “China: Through the Looking Glass,” and it will run from May 7th to August 16th, 2015. People invited to attend the Met Gala often see it as an opportunity to present high fashion looks that often match the theme of the exhibit. Here are some of OROGOLD’s favorite looks from the 2015 Met Gala:

Kim Kardashian West wore a stunning Roberto Cavalli dress that elegantly mixed sheer nude mesh and beading and embellishment to create intricate designs that accentuated Kim’s natural curves.

Amanda Seyfried showed up in a Givenchy Haute Couture high low gown that had avant garde flowers accenting the front. She paired this paper white dress with a dark wine lipstick that added contrast to the entire look.

Amal Clooney looked as beautiful as ever in her Maison Margiela gown. The rich red dress was strapless with a structured and fitted bustier paired with a tiered skirt that contrasted between matte and metallic.

Kate Hudson wore a metallic gold sequin Michael Kors dress. It had a very classic vibe with a form-fitting silhouette with a sleek but high neckline. The long gold train just added even more glamour to the entire look.

Cara Delevingne sported a different look in her tight black pantsuit by Stella McCartney. The suit had fashion forward cut outs that showed off her temporary tattoos she got of cherry blossom trees and sparkling embellishments across the bust. The entire ensemble was very sleek and unique for the event.

Poppy Delevingne, on the other hand, wore a red Marchesa gown with a long flowing skirt that just hit the floor. The top was covered in light and airy fabric poppies that gave the dress an almost fantastical feel.

Jessica Hart’s Valentino dress paired black mesh with a red fabric design on top that created interesting cut outs and patterns all over her body. The turtleneck cut and long sleeves as well as wearing her hair in a top knot gave Jessica a very sleek overall look.

Miley Cyrus donned a dramatic Alexander Wang dress embellished with studs and large cutouts on either side. The dress was a perfect balance between Miley’s rebellious nature and fashion forward trends.

FKA Twigs’ Christopher Kane creation was a unique 2D art design created out of paintings of people that were used in order to make the fabric of the dress. The dress had an almost pop art or comic book feel to it.

Keri Russell wore a one-of-a-kind Altuzarra dress that was an expensive olive green and grey color. The top half was covered in feathers where the bottom half blended into a green sequin train that was accented by a side slit.

Justin Beiber showed up in an all-black ensemble paired with a Balmain jacket that had a gold dragon embroidered on the the blazer. He could have done without the sunglasses, though.
