Now in its seventh year, Clerkenwell Design Week is a highly acclaimed design festival that will be held in London from the 24th to the 26th of May. Featuring the very best of contemporary architecture and interior design, Clerkenwell Design Week is definitely an event that those interested in design should try to attend.
Talks, Discussions and Debates
Over the three days in which Clerkenwell Design Week is held, there is a program of scheduled talks, debates and discussions that are known for being world-class for discussing industry issues and innovations. These talks are also fantastic places for design enthusiasts and professionals to network with like-minded people, with each of the talks promising to be extremely inspiring. The first day of the festival includes talks on the Renaissance of London Street Market Culture, 3D Printing for Interiors, Color Trends for the Modern Office and more. On Wednesday, the most highly anticipated talks include The Secrets Behind Creating Thriving Social Spaces and Marvellous Materials, while the Thursday sees Innovative Office Design, Color in the Office, a street art workshop, and so much more.

Each year, Clerkenwell Design Week commissions a number of different designers to create exclusive design projects and street spectacles for the festival. Each designer invited to participate is known to be a leader in their niche, meaning that the overall result is one that pushes the boundaries in terms of concept, design, materials and techniques.

In addition to being home to a number of furniture and interior design showrooms, the area of Clerkenwell is also where some of the city’s most talented architects, craft studios and branding agencies have set up shop. During Clerkenwell Design Week, the majority of these businesses open their doors to the public, hosting fascinating workshops and installations for the public to enjoy.
Food and Drink
Each year, Clerkenwell Design Week selects some of the best restaurants in Clerkenwell to collaborate with, offering up tantalizing deals and discounts. This year, there are 25 different restaurants that will be participating, from Polpo, which serves up humble and simple, yet utterly exquisite, dishes, to the French brasserie at Malmaison, to Burger and Lobster, known for the tastiest burgers in town. This is a great opportunity to take in some of the local talent on the food scene while visiting Clerkenwell Design Week, as each of the participating restaurants are very highly acclaimed.
